One high school, 90 pregnant girls: What's going on?
Wed Jan 19, 2011
I agree with Marcia: We glamorize pregancy and babies. People magazine features glamorous photo layouts of celebrities with their babies. MTV's Teen Mom is making a quarter million dollars a year in sponsorships. We watch "baby bumps."
What parents should know about school lunch
Thu Dec 16, 2010
Better yet, send in a bagged lunch. I witnessed a tray full of uneaten apples in my son's second grade cafeteria. But the fries? Oh, those were like currency. At least you have some semblance of control when you send in lunch.
Keep your filthy paws off my baby, please!
Tue Nov 9, 2010
I would put one up that says: "If you touch my baby without washing your hands, please sign up to stay up all night with him when he catches whatever's brewing in your nose right now." You probably can sell that sign to first-time mothers only, but I don't see anything wrong with it.

Should you rat out a young relative (or any kid you're close to) because of a Facebook post?
Thu Jul 8, 2010
I did that very thing about my niece. I told her and her parents that I didn't think she should be on Formspring, which I've likened to leaving your young teen in an NYC park at midnight with a light shining in her face.
Save your sanity this summer: Make a contract with your kids
Wed Jun 23, 2010
I think it's a great idea to put the rules down on paper and call it a contract. That way kids know there is no negotiation, and that you mean business. Nicely done.
